If you ask on Gerbv developers list <gerbv-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
(might need to subscribe via SourceForge first), someone can tell you.
The gerbv developers are very receptive to bug reports.

Were you able to select which rendering method you used? Gerbv has a
drop down box on the left hand side which sets the quality and APIs used
to render.

Try "Rendering: Fast" -> "Rendering: High quality"

Regarding jaggies. I think gerbv deliberately draws with anti-aliasing
turned off for many of the rendering modes. This both improves speed,
and can help avoid "seams" appearing between different pieces of copper
which PCB uses to make up polygons.

Perversely, these seams "might" show up in "High quality" rendering
mode, but they are just a anti-aliasing artefact due to the fact cairo
does anti-aliasing as it draws each object, rather than global
anti-aliasing on the whole page.

Zoom limit "might" be deliberately coded - if it bothers you, file a
bug. If it affects your usability of the software, it indicates
something should be fixed there.

Best wishes,
