gEDA-user: PCB Build Errors

I'm trying to build PCB from CVS.

First error:

gcc -std=gnu99 -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.. -I.. -I./icons
-DPCBLIBDIR=\"/usr/local/share/pcb\"
-DPCBTREEDIR=\"/usr/local/share/pcb/newlib\"  -g -O2  -MT dev_rs274x.o

What version of gcc is recommended for building PCB?  I fixed that
error which takes me to this:

-DPCBTREEDIR=\"/usr/local/share/pcb/newlib\"  -g -O2  -MT parse_l.o

I have flex 2.5.33 installed.
