gEDA-user: PDF or bitmap -> footprint conversion (HOWTO)
Hallo.
I was disappointed by the fact, that one vector format (PDF or
PostScript) can not be easily converted to another vector format (PDF).
That is why I decided to improve the pstoedit utility.
Here is a download lnk and a simple HOWTO, which describes conversion
from PDF or bitmap to the PCB drawing or footprint:

I hope it will be useful.
With a help of vector tracing utility, it can be used even for bitmaps.
It can be used also as a "poor man's conversion utility" for conversion
of footprints from other EDA programs using the PostScript print output
(loosing everything except layout drawing).
