(Forthcoming Ubuntu Hardy will be long term supported)

Ubuntu Gutsy: (latest stable)
  libgtk2.0-0 (2.12.0-1ubuntu3)
  libcairo2 (1.4.10-1ubuntu4)

Ubuntu Feisty: (previous stable)
  libgtk2.0-0 (2.10.11-0ubuntu3)
  libcairo2 (1.4.2-0ubuntu1)

Ubuntu Edgy: (old)
  libgtk2.0-0 (2.10.6-0ubuntu3.1)
  libcairo2 (1.2.4-1ubuntu2)

Ubuntu Dapper: (long term support: desktop edition until 2009
                                    server edition until 2011)
  libgtk2.0-0 (2.8.20-0ubuntu1.1)
  libcairo2 (1.0.4-0ubuntu1)

NB... for sensible cairo drawing stuff, we probably want GTK 2.8+ and
Cairo 1.4+

Best wishes,
