An 0.3 second delay updating the screen while moving a part is *very*
slow.  My refresh rate is already annoying, I don't need it to be more
annoying.

I'm not worried, as you note.  I just wanted to put a check in for the
rare case when it happens.  It's good practice to check for overflow
when converting a text string into an integer.
