Simple things, like supplying raw data in the form of "attributed
info "(TeEncontreX) or lists of words (+wordsland).

Not at all, I think they're simpler projects than ICQ clients or
text editors.

It has to be commercial because Open Source World is interested in
some other kinds of software. Technically it's not harder than
other "branches" of software.

Open Source World tend to some "difficult" things , simply for 
the pleasure of handling those hard things, like :
- C 
- vi 
- Assembler
- Code "optimized"
- Little comments, poor docs 

To find some straight forward design and well documented ... it's
a bit hard.
