Yes, although I have to give most of the credit to Pov-Ray.  You can check
it out at www.povray.org.

Here is the first sprite I made with pov-ray along with the code to
generate it under various activities(firing,exploding,accelerating,etc...)
and some other sprites too.:

I've been thinking about this quite a bit and this is what I've come up
with so far:
The code will definitely be distributed under the GPL or something similar.
All the graphics and data needed to play the game would be freely available
for download.  Extra graphics and data would be sold on CD (e.g.  The free
downloads would include 2 teams that could play each other, but you could
order a CD containing graphics and data for professional teams.)  I'd
really like to hear what you guys think about this.  Unfortunately this is
something developers must deal with that has absolutely nothing to do with
coding.
