Hmm, this sounds like Usenet or "Ask Slashdot" to me. Doing this kind of
support is a main part of our business. Don't expect this to be an easy
task, especially if you are aiming on 24x7. You need people who receive
all the email and bounce it to the relevant experts on this area. Or you
have a preselection of "support areas" (like X-Config, Networking and so
on) and make an automated distribution. I don't think that this is
something we should be aiming to. We should put our focus on building up a
central resource of all documentation available to Linux, maybe combined
with some kind of scoring system (see Netscape's knowledge base) and a
powerful search engine. I noticed, that the LDP now has a search engine.
This was something I've been missing for a long time. There's so much
documentation floating around, but it's hard to find the relevant one for
your purpose.

Knowledge Base sounds like Microsoft to me. I have a slight aversion
against trying to imitate them. They even call bugfixes "Service Packs"...

:-)

But in general, I really don't have a strong opinion about the child's
name, as long as the concept is straight and powerful,

I guess you are right.
