Thanks, this remembered me I should test this patch.
So, on current Debian Wheezy, Anthony Basile's patch (without our own
one, that is apparently eglibc-specific) fixes *almost* all the false
warning messages. So, given it apparently fixes the bug entirely on
other platforms, applying it is probably the way to go.
However, to entirely fix the bug for eglibc users too, our
0002-If-a-symbol-cannot-be-found-also-try-by-prefixing-it.patch
(or something better) is needed as well, so I guess I'll go on
carrying it in Debian if it is not merged upstream.
No emergency in either case, Nick's careful plan looks totally
sensible to me.
