BTW, it was hyped quite a bit more than deserved at the point
-- at least one of another free implementations was considerably
more robust (libswf?).  I personally use Macromedia's (plus
FlashBlock of course) though.

PS: it's not exactly "language", rather "format" or even "tool"
to me...
