Not if KFM is stable.  In my experience, I did crash it once and KDE got
screwed up.  I think it happened when I loaded a web page with LOTS of
photos.  Linux keeps LOTS of processes going all the time, so one more
shouldn't be a big deal.

I'm just sticking with the betas, and not even every one of those.  :-) 
I got Beta 1 in early November and Beta 3 in early February.  Hopefully
1.0 will be the next release!  I'm not adventurous enough to play with
snapshots...

Well, KDE as a desktop is an integral part of the computer, so it's
ESSENTIAL that it be stable.  Gimp is a "side app".

Hmm...I can program some, but currently I'm more into applications than
widget sets.  I just want to use widgets that others create!
