You need a dhcp client. You didn't mention which linux distribution you're running.
There's a client called pump, I you're using debian, there's also dhcpcd (dhcp client daemon).

specify the ip if the win2k server in /etc/resolv.conf.  "man resolv.conf" will tell
you the syntax.
