I suspect this is due to Kai-Martin's emails being base64 encoded.
Viewing the message source in evolution shows everyone's emails in plain
text except for his, which have the header "Content-Transfer-Encoding:
base64".

I don't know if you've already seen this message[1] but it seems you're
not the only one experiencing this problem.
