Similar discussion in scientific/university work:
Some people want to have all stuff in one file -- one single word
document with pictures ...
Other like multiple files, text in LaTeX source, measuring data in text-
or binary files, gnuplot scripts to plot data, graphics in postscript or
pdf.

I am not which is better.
