Re: gEDA-user: fork of pcb ?



Tim Edwards, the author of XCircuit is indeed making a Tcl/Tk GUI version of
pcb; I don't believe his intent is to fork the program, simply to make yet
another GUI for it and to increase compatibility with XCircuit, and a Magic.
I believe that I let DJ know about Tim's efforts a long while ago since Tim
was starting the processes when DJ was first talking about it.

It's possible that Tim's and DJ's efforts are different enough that it will
be a long time before the code merges, but I believe that is Tim's intent.
He did start the effort before the GTK port was first made so merging is
likely to be difficult, but I do think that it would be useful for Tim and
DJ to talk to each other about what they're doing.
