Re: [pygame] pyGame and touchscreens

It's a USB cable, and the manufacturer says it'll work on any system/OS. With what you tell me, I guess it sends information equal to what a mouse would send. That's great, thanks for the information.

I used to repair some touchscreen systems a few years ago. As far I recall,
they all simulated a ps/2 mouse, since often they would crash into windows,
and you could then use the screen to reboot the system. I'd assume that the
pygame event handler would treat them as a normal mouse input. But best to
maybe check the physical connection running off the touchscreen.

Hi,

I'm working on a touchscreen application with pygame. Up till now,
I've always used pygame's mouse events to track the user's actions (as
I don't have the touchscreen yet).

Just this morning, I started to wonder whether relying on the fact
that touchscreen input equals mouse input (from pygame's perspective)
is really a wise thing to do.

Does anyone have experience with pygame's input event handler and
touchscreens?

Thanks,

Mathieu
