OK, pcb snapshot 20081128 compiles and works without GUI after

cp  src/hid/gtk/hid.conf  src/hid/batch/

I guess the Gentoo quality warning is a result of missing

#include misc.h

in hid/batch/batch.c or similar. There is a message
"unknown action `PointCursor'"?
