If they could, it would interfere with the way I deal with gedasymbols at 
the moment. I set the component-library path to the local copy of the  
repository. So my department on gedasymbols is essentially a mirror of my 
working library and vice verse. I wouldn't be comfortable with someone 
else editing it according to his preferences.
