Re: [pygame] New pygame.org website

Rene,
Do you have access to all the content on the current website? Databases, source code, etc?

I never noticed the adverts as I use an addblocker too. I never enabled them, and at least once remember selecting them to not be enabled some years ago. It looks like it was activated on September 19th this year without the consent of anyone. I disabled it.

Rather than ditch disqus altogether, I would be willing to write to them and ask if they wouldn't consider giving pygame a special version without ads.  What do you all think about that?  Doesn't have to be me, either, but just to complete the idea.

I have a disqus account for my blog, and it looks like the ads can be disabled in the disqus control panel. They only serve them on sites with enough traffic in the first place, so I can't test.

Does anyone have access to the Disqus account for Pygame so we can try to turn these off?

The ads they're serving when I look are such trashy clickbait that I'm inclined to avoid the service entirely for new sites. If that's how they're going to make money, I want no part of it.
