For net names I agree with this approach. It is much easier to quickly identify
signals than trying to see a thin line on low resolution device.

For the IC pinlabels I try to preserve the manufacturer pin labels as
much as possble
except that I will change an overbar to a forward-slash prefix.

Changing an IC pinlabel from   AEN  to  ADIS would make it more
difficult to reconcile
the schematic to the manufacturer datasheet.
