Are there other circumstances, where pcb might want to run a shell script?
Would it help, if cygwin were installed?

Fortunately, I avoid the m4 lib with my projects ;-)
Are there more major features that have yet to make it into the windows
version?

The ":" key opens the command line utility just fine.
Left-clicking several times to the main part of the pcb window didn't
help. pcb just does nothing when it is supposed to zoom -- No matter
whether the zoom action should be triggered by the mouse wheel, by the z
key, or by a click in the menu.

works :-)
We try "cd", too.

gschem failed to start whenever the gafrc contained a gentenv statement.
(I also use the gentenv command to for the path of the local user library)

Some more notes from the student:

gschem: The "close" item in the file menu quits the application. Should
close the current sheet, only. The linux version also misbehaves like
that.

gschem GUI: The multi-window-approach got a bit of a frown. This may be
in part, because windows always puts the windows to the upper left corner
of the monitor.
