Which is also the one most likely to lead to code bloat,
unless it's used extremely carefully.

If you use templates in the obvious way to implement
e.g a List<T>, and then instantiate List<Foo *> and
List<Blarg *>, you end up with two copies of the code,
despite the fact that the same code *could* be used
to implement both, since they're only slinging pointers
around.

(Unless compilers have got a lot smarter since I last
played around with templates, which is possible.)
