Probably down to the GL implementation. I'm only noticing it with the
latest MESA releases.

If you open PCB, then close the library window immediately (without
selecting anything). If the bug is present - you will find that the main
rendering window is not cleared between redraws and builds up mess,
cursor trails etc..

The GL drawing routines are already separated into a common file - with
the exception of expose handler setup / teardown (those could be moved
too I guess).

Some code will be custom to GTK+GL, rather than purely generic GL, but
some could be factored out.

Should be possible - although I did start by ripping out the GTK
rendering code, so some effort will have to be applied to put it back!
