This option could be a config setting to be "normally on" or not.

That would allow for searching through
your data for objects in different cells to act on them.  Like the chip design tools allow.
It could be used well by a refdes-renumber program that acts on whole hierarchies at a time.

Or just to find a set of things by attribs with some logic to match them:  (a*b*c) + (d*e) + a*(f+h)  etc...
